History
Marina Medical was founded in 1981 by Marsha Besley to do the billing for her emergency medicine physician husband’s hospital contract. Marina Medical was then and remains today totally committed to the philosophy that physicians deserve to be paid fairly and promptly for the care provided their patients in good faith, with payment fully in compliance with both the letter and the spirit of all applicable rules, regulations and laws. Within this philosophical framework, Marina Medical’s employees are highly committed to “their doctors” and to working hard on their behalf. Marina’s proven ability to collect more for new clients by meticulous follow-through, submitting better prepared claims, and careful attention to detail is a direct result of this commitment.

Management
Marina’s record is exemplary in the industry with respect to managerial stability and experience. Evidence of this lies in Marina’s extraordinarily high client retention rate. In fact, Marina still serves its first clients from the early 1980’s! Proven senior management is essential to consistently outstanding company performance for clients. Marina also has a deep senior management team covering all aspects of medical billing operations, including a General Manager of Operations and four Directors of Operations. The company is led by Marsha L. Besley, President and Founder, and D. Michael Connellan, Chief Executive Officer. Both are fully involved in Marina’s operations on a daily basis and are available at all times to Marina’s clients.
